Getting started
How do I generate my first recipe?
Tap the gold + button, then answer a few quick tap-to-select questions — occasion, cuisine, budget, what you have on hand, and any dietary needs. Your recipe is ready in about 90 seconds.
Do I need an account?
Yes — an account is what lets your cookbook follow you between sessions and devices, and it's how the free monthly limit is tracked fairly.
Can I change my name or profile picture?
Yes. In Settings, tap your name to edit it, or tap your avatar to reroll it to a new random look.
Recipes & cooking
Why didn't my recipe use everything I said I had on hand?
Savor treats what you have on hand as a hint, not a checklist — it only includes what actually belongs in an authentic version of the dish. A coherent, real recipe beats one stuffed with every ingredient you mentioned.
Can I pick a specific cuisine?
Yes — the second question in the create flow lets you pick from 20 cuisines, or choose "Surprise me" to let Savor decide.
What is Cook Mode?
Tap "Start cooking" on any recipe to step through it one instruction at a time, in large type — built to be easy to read at arm's length while you're actually cooking.
Can I delete a recipe from my cookbook?
Yes — long-press any recipe card in your cookbook and choose Delete.
Sharing
How do I share a recipe?
Long-press a recipe in your cookbook, or use the share icon on a recipe's detail screen, or share right after you finish cooking. You'll see a preview of the branded card before it sends.
If someone I share with doesn't have Savor, can they still see the recipe?
The share includes a link to the recipe. If they have Savor installed, it opens directly to the full recipe, where they can view it, cook it, and optionally save their own copy.
Does sharing a recipe with someone add it to their cookbook?
No — viewing a shared recipe never automatically saves it anywhere. The recipient has to explicitly tap "Save to my cookbook" if they want their own copy.
Subscription & billing
How many recipes can I generate for free?
5 per month, resetting automatically at the start of each month.
How do I upgrade to Pro?
In Settings, tap Upgrade to Pro, or you'll see the option automatically once you use your 5 free recipes for the month.
How do I cancel?
Settings → Cancel subscription. You'll keep Pro until the period you already paid for ends — no further charges after that.
How do I update my card?
Settings → Update card opens a secure page hosted by our payment processor, Paystack. We never see or store your card number.
Notifications
What notifications does Savor send?
A ping the moment a recipe finishes generating, and — if you turn it on — one daily reminder. Nothing else.
How do I turn notifications off?
Settings → Push notifications.
Account & data
How do I delete my account?
Settings → Delete account, at the very bottom. This is permanent and immediate. Full details on our account deletion page.
How do I get a copy of my data?
See our data request page — email us and we'll send it within 30 days.
